Pacha Club, Ibiza, Spain

Pacha Club has demonstrated time and time again, that the club is king, and this year more than most sees some major changes. With Pete Tong and Jade Jagger stepping out of the hugely successful Friday nights Pure Pacha, the club is pulling out all the stops to make sure that it stays ahead of the competition.

Pacha is a clubbing franchise with headquarters in Ibiza. The first Pacha club was opened in Sitges outside Barcelona in 1967. The Ibiza club, however, is the most well-known and prestigious venue today and is one of two of the island's top clubs located in Ibiza Town, the other being El Divino which is on the marina just a couple of blocks away.

Pacha Club was voted no. 4 in a poll of most popular nightclubs in 2006 conducted by DJ MagazineThe club, which opened in 1973, has undergone several rebuildings and enlargements and is one of island's most famous and modern nightclub.

Its location is near the harbor in Ibiza Town. Pacha is the only major Ibiza nightclub which doesn't close its doors during the winter season. The club's capacity is 3,500 guests. Sarah Main is the current resident DJ. However, the Ibizan club is best known for nights such as "Pure Pacha" hosted by DJs such as Pete Tong, every night during the summer months. The club was also featured in the 2004 movie It's All Gone Pete Tong.

Musically, Pacha is best known for house music but has five different rooms incorporating other musical styles. DJ Steve Lawler comments about Pacha in an interview with Ministry of Sound in 2006 that, "Pacha’s a great club with an amazing sound system and by far the best dancers performers in the world". Every September the club is host to the Ibiza Dj Awards.

In 2007, musician James Blunt released a song called "1973" about the club, which was subsequently remixed by Pete Tong and played during his own sets in the club. As of 2008 Pete Tong has severed ties with Pacha in favour of promoting his own night, Wonderland, at Eden nightclub in San Antonio.

Expect some incredible line-ups including the likes of Faithless and if rumours are to be believed Macy Gray.
